ESS Fellows

The ESS Fellows represents one of the highest academic honors of the Engineered Science Society. It recognizes distinguished scientists whose achievements, leadership, and contributions have substantially advanced Engineered Science and related disciplines.

1. Life-time Honorary Fellow of the Engineered Science Society

The Life-time Honorary Fellow is among the most prestigious honors conferred by ESS. It recognizes individuals whose pioneering and foundational contributions have had a lasting and transformative impact on Engineered Science and the global scientific community.

2. Fellow of the Engineered Science Society

The Fellow of the Engineered Science Society recognizes scientists who have demonstrated sustained excellence in research, innovation,and academic leadership, and whose work has achieved significant international influence.

Micius Award Series

The Micius Award Series represents the highest-level international academic awards conferred by ESS. These awards recognize individuals whose achievements have profoundly advanced Engineered Science and its global impact.

1. ESS Micius Award

The highest award conferred by ESS, recognizing world-leading scientific achievements and sustained contributions that have fundamentally influenced the development of Engineered Science.

2. ESS Micius Outstanding Young Award

Recognizing outstanding young researchers who have demonstrated exceptional originality, innovation, and scientific leadership through breakthrough research accomplishments.

3. ESS Micius Rising-Star Award

Recognizing emerging scholars who have achieved outstanding accomplishments at the frontiers of Engineered Science and exhibit exceptional potential for future leadership.

ESS Innovator Awards Series

The ESS Innovator Awards Series recognizes individuals and teams whose innovations have created substantial scientific, technological, or engineering impact. These awards highlight excellence in translating scientific discoveries into practical solutions and advancing innovation-driven development.

1. ESS Outstanding Innovator Award

Recognizing major breakthrough achievements in original research, engineering innovation, or technological applications with significant academic or societal impact.

2. ESS Young Innovator Award

Recognizing outstanding young researchers and innovators who have demonstrated exceptional creativity, innovation potential, and representative a chievements early in their careers.

3. ESS Emerging Innovator Award

Recognizing promising early-career researchers and innovation teams whose work demonstrates strong potential for future breakthroughs and leadership.

Application Procedure

Nominations and applications for all ESS Fellowships and Award Series are accepted through a formal submission process. Applicants or nominators are required to complete the relevant application form and submit it via email.

  • Submission Method: Completed application forms should be sent as attachments via email

  • Deadline: June 30, 2026

All submissions will undergo a structured review process in accordance with ESS evaluation principles, including academic excellence, innovation, fairness, independence, and international standards.

Additional Requirement:

Applicants are required to register and attend ICES 2026. Award recipients will be officially announced and the certificates will be conferred during the conference. No electronic certificates will be issued in this cycle. Recipients are expected to attend the ceremony in person or arrange an authorized representative to receive the certificate on-site. The organizing committee will not provide electronic versions or postal delivery services.
